Metabolism Weight Loss
Your metabolic rate determines how fast you burn calories and so has a large role to play in weight loss. In general men tend to have a higher metabolic rate than women and the metabolic rate of everyone starts to slow after the age of 40.
Speeding up the metabolism or giving it a boost is a good way to burn calories and there are different ways of doing this.
Our bodies constantly burn calories even when they are at rest. This resting metabolic rate is much higher in people with more muscle as muscle tissue burns calories at a rate that is ten times higher than that of fat tissue.
Exercise is a good way of boosting the metabolism. Strength training gives a day long metabolic boost and aerobic training such as running or swimming will boost the metabolic rate for a few hours.
Spicing up your meals with red or green chilli peppers can boost the metabolism by up to 23% for a short period of time.

It is possible to lose weight with green tea as it can rev up the metabolism as it contains a substance called catechin. Drinking green tea can help to burn an extra 75 calories each day which may not sound a lot but it adds up to 10 pounds weight lost over the course of a year.
To keep your metabolism in tip top condition make sure that you are properly hydrated as being dehydrated causes the metabolism to slow down. Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day to stay properly hydrated.
